I had the thought when I saw that article that the move than 800,000
dollar that was paid for this woman could be an interesting angle for
some political birth action... something along the lines of... pregnant
woman in art worth 800,000 but pregnant women cant get funded for real
birthing choice.

It would be great to have a group of pregnant women visit the pregnant
sculpture for a fantastic photo shoot to get media attention for
birthing.

Where is the sculpture?? National Gallery Canberra??

In peace and joy

Subject: [ozmidwifery] pregnant woman on front page of The Age

Again, forgive me if this has already been posted...

Did anyone see The Age on Saturday (21/12)? I'm sad that I can't find a
link on their web site to show you all, but the lead photo is a frontal
of a beautiful, naked, heavily pregant woman! The headline reads "I am
strong, I am invincible, I am woman (all 2.5 metre of me)"

It turns out that photo is actually of a sculpute (in colour) done by an
artist called Ron Mueck & the article talks about the sculptue & his
other works. Also in a smaller photo of the profile of this gorgeous
woman.

How exciting though, to have a pregnant woman on the front page of The
Age!
