I have seen a number of granulomas over the years in my Maternal & Child
Health Work. One of the vessels is still active with blood supply causing a
continued growth. I just put some silver nitrate on the granuloma and
explain to the parents how to continue until it dissolves. It is important
for them not to fear the black appearance that occurs when the silver
nitrate is active. Successful each time without any problems later.

If it is a granuloma, my son had one and the doctor simply tied some suture
material and it dropped off a few days later. You can no longer even tell.
i am a midwife and I have not seen one in my career. Hope it helps.

sally I think you are referring to a granuloma, either left alone or I think
they used to use silver nitrate in the past, yours in midwifery pete

Has anyone else seen belly button that has separated (dropped off) but
seems to have a little bit of intact blood vessel left.

It looks all as usual except for a raw bit sticking up and to me it
looks like a blood vessel. Not bleeding at all.

If you have how did it resolve?
