The women I'm waiting with are challenging me... after waiting 16 days
around Christmas time I am now at 19 days with one woman and 16 with
another... sigh... They are getting your 'baby will die' scenarios from
the doctor but are both resistant to an induction! One felt 'a bit
bullied' the doctor. Got some happy stories for me??
My own happy story was that with my last baby I was 22 days over.. he
was born beautifully and still had vernix under his arms and in his
groin.

Hi Sally...
Veronica was born exactly 3 weeks past my 'due date' :-o....This took my relationship with my midwife to new heights.... I would just say to her..."trust the woman"....However I know it took both her and Mary J well beyond their comfort zones. My dates were not concrete....I had had only had one period since Cecelia's birth....and wasn't sure of the exact timing of Veronica's conception...only I had a time frame of two weeks as Adam was in Hong Kong...so Veronica was either conceived before he left or on welcoming him home LOL!!!!!!! In retrospect, I would say it was on the welcoming him home !!
However...what this taught me was to be patient....and listen to the woman...listen to the baby.....and to make decisions on what was concrete before us...not on 'dates'....I was well...the babe was well...and labour started when we were all good and ready.
Veronica Maree was born at home on the bathroom floor surrounded by with her dad, her big sister and midwife friend who came to lend a helping hand as the primary midwife was in transit.....34 minutes after labour began...OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So when she finally decided to enter the world she did it in a hurry and she still is!!
Love to you Sally and the 'women in waiting'.....
