Lesia, I do totally agree with you in respect to supporting our women with their choices, whilst we may not agree or understand there choice, my 'philosophy' is supporting my sister's choices.
The only thing I would like to add is that I always like to investigate why they have made their choices to ENSURE THEY ARE INFORMED DECISIONS. I do believe that it was the OB that suggested that she have a c/s due to the 'sore foot', So was she given the FULL information to enable her to make an INFORMED CHOICE????????????. Generally when I have asked why a women's decision has been made (of course, you must ask this in a non threatening manner) I find that they have based their decision on misinformation and occassionaly will change their minds when given the FULL FACTS. I don't think this is 'bullying' or 'forcing' my friends, clients etc. but I just like to ensure that they have ALL the facts before a decision is made, and have never met with resistance when I offer and provide resources to support the information for them to consider. -- Yours in Childbirth and with the Love of Friendship Rita ȣVRWMѤ Mother of David 13, Haydie 11, Alysha 10 and Baby Tyler 8 months Registered Nurse, Student Midwife (currently in hiatus due to injury), Aspiring CBE and Doula --------- Original Message -------- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [ozmidwifery] Reasons to avoid a "natural" birth Date: 02/02/03 21:49 > > Hi, > > Deep breath in, ok I'm about to loose a lot of favour here but hey ho.... > > What about supporting all women in there choices even if they are not the > choices we would make?
