Hello from Australia

We are currently trying to improve maternity services for women in Australia and would like to have information we could use to compare choices, options and outcomes, safety with other countries of the world. Especially other countries that have excellent midwifery care established such as Holland.

By using comparison statistics we could strengthen our argument for more midwifery based services rather than our current system of too much unnecessary obstetric care.

We are very interested to find out the statistics of birthing in Holland.

How many women birth at home?

Do you have natural birth centres and how many women choose to birth at them?

How many women choose to birth in hospital?

What models of midwifery care do you provide?

What changes in birthing trends have there been in Holland over the past 50 years or so?

What are the national or area statistics of maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity?

Do you do comparisons with other countries of the world?

Are you able to email these figures to me?

Are you able to email any articles of information to me?

Do you have a web site in English I could visit?
