My "sooky" neice gave birth to two babies with the help of relaxation through hypnosis from a medical hypnotherapist. Her first birth was 7 hrs, nearly 10lbs , intact peri; her second, 4 hrs, 10lbs12. intact peri. (sorry about the imperial measure) She was magnificent in labour and reverted to her usual self for her afterbirth pains. She was only focussed in the labour. (typical of her overall attitude) As her midwife I was IMPRESSED. If the art of deep relaxation helps women, then is it not better than the epidural epidemic that we have at the moment? MM
