They probably went the way of the W.A. ones... formulated and distributed in
the early 1990's and ignored by hospital authoities ever since.  We achieved
practicing rights at one eastern suburb hospital but the obstetricians
refused to accept our clients into the hospital and we never ever were able
to benefit from it.  After 3 yrs I didn't apply again.  the situation
remains unchanged with only Woodside hospital allowing midwives to practice
there, which we had done, well  before the guidelines were formulated and
still do.  Talk about a restriction on trade practices.  The guidelines need
review again, but it hardly seems worht the time and effort.  MM
