I was interested to read the recent post about the Birth Action Group and Maternity Coalition Qld's media activism.
I read that you're currently applying for a grant to educate the public through the media. I thought you might be interested in the workshops I run to train community groups how to publicise their message through the media. I am currently running very successful workshops for cycle advocacy groups around Australia and will be in Brisbane in early July to run a Queensland workshop. I'm a journalist, and have worked in PR and as a university tutor, but like the idea of empowering people to write their own media releases rather than having to pay a professional to run their campaign for them.
