From my one and only issue of the BMJ that I own, there is a reference aboutleaving nature to take it's course. I can't remember exactly the right way of referencing this, but it is BMJ, April 2002, 873-875, "Outcome of expectant management of spontaneous first trimester miscarriage: observational study". Ciro Luise, Karen Jermy, Caroline May et al. If you go to the BMJ website you should be able to view the whole article for free.
