Excellent Denise, I had been really missing Mothering Magazine. Sent the article to my daughter in NY who is studying nurse midwifery at Columbia Uni. Nurse Midwifery is under  a huge attack in the USA at the moment: basically a turf war with OB's and perinatologists over low risk women and incidently the guidelines for who is low risk.
