It is good to hear these stories of hospitals who keep newborns where they should be - with their mother after birth.
If not - I wish all Mums to be as strong and empowered as Cas has suggested - and DEMAND that baby stay with them - OR ELSE!!!

I've read the responses to this with interest. To be honest, Hospital policy be damned... in my opinion it is up to the mother if she is well and baby is okay. I would not have allowed them to take my baby away and would have told them that I would sue if they did. Women have a lot of rights and sometimes need to dogmatically exercise them in the face of opposition.
