Hello all,
I am having major problems with my computer - so am quickly typing this while it is having a good moment!!! I received a call from the Australian Broadcasting Authority yesterday (Friday) re. an on-line query I had about lodging a formal complaint to the ABA re. Caesarian on the Today show - and this is pretty much the gyst of what was told to me - it was particularly difficult to hear the woman speaking - as both my baby AND toddler were crying and/or whinging throughout the entire conversation!!!! Firstly, complaints that are e-mailed to a network aren't deemed 'official' - so, complaints need to be sent in writing (via fax or post) to the station within 30 days of the programme/story in question. I suggest cutting and pasting original letter of complaint that we all e-mailed to save time. Apparently, the station needs to respond within 60 days to a complaint. You can then send your complaint to the ABA, with a copy of your letter and reply from Channel 9. Letters need to stipulate the date and time of the broadcast, and what material was offensive (1st day was the 3rd December at 7.43am; and the 2nd day, 4th December, was throughout the entire 3 hour programme). I hope you can manage the time to send a fax to
Channel 9 (I think the original ones we all sent would be fine) AND one to the
ABA.
I think it would be especially good for those who
received personal e-mails responses from Channel 9 - as they were also pretty
inappropriate, too.
I know its a VERY busy time of year... but there is
only about 1 1/2 weeks to do it!!!
kindest regards and a wonderful, safe and happy
Christmas to all!!
