I have been in Homebirth for 21 yrs and never had a naturally birthing woman go spontaneously to this "stranded beetle" position.(usually kneeling forward)   It goes against the normal physiological functioning of the birth canal.  To have an aid that encourages  women to feel that this position is "right" is awful;.
