Dear All,

I received this email from a woman who was planning a homebirth with me (identifying features removed). I don't have any experience in this area and was wondering does this sound right to you? How early could the Obst. induce her anyway? Would waiting the extra few weeks for spontaneous labour make a huge difference to the progress of the cancer, given that she is about 18 weeks pregnant now?
Thanks,
Andrea Bilcliff

PS I will post on several lists, so apologies if you receive this more than once!

...Unfortunately I wont be able to go ahead with the home birth, I had a pap smear which showed cin3/carcinoma so I have been seeing Dr (*******) and he has said I will have to go to hospital to have the baby because they are most likely going to have to induce me so he can start treatment. I only found this out the other day so I have been waiting to tell you because I was still hoping for a home birth but it seems to be out of the question now. I am really sorry for wasting your time and I am really disappointed to as it is my last time I was really looking forward to the birth now it isn't even going to be natural but if they think it is best I suppose it is...
