Not sure what to make of this...
Makes you wonder what is missing from this
report... if the mother thought she was going to be given a classical incision
then perhaps it shows that she was not given any form of information.... no
reasons as to why the babies needed to be born by cs. Why would the care
providers not be questioned as to their capabilities for caring for a twin
vaginal birth...????? Too vain.......?!
Mum charged for refusing caesarean From correspondents in Salt Lake City, Utah March 13, 2004 US prosecutors have charged a woman with murder after she refused to have a
caesarean section to safely deliver the twins she was carrying. Prosecutors in Utah said she was "too vain" to have surgery to remove them from her womb in time. The mother refused medical treatment, saying she would rather die than go to either of two recommended hospitals, and that being cut "from breast bone to pubic bone" would ruin her life, prosecutors claimed in court documents. "She chose interest in her vanity over the interest in seeing that her child was born healthy," Salt Lake City County Assistant Chief District Attorney Kent Morgan said. http://www.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4057,8953400%5E401,00.html |
