Parenting, the gentle way with Pinky McKay.

(Im heading to Brisbane in the morning so bookings can be made through Katie- see bottom of flier)

Parenting should be based on connection rather than control - and it should be FUN!" says Pinky McKay, author of Parenting By Heart and 100 Ways to Calm the Crying.

Pinky offers gentle alternatives for parents who don't want to adopt regimes and techniques such as 'controlled crying' / 'controlled comforting'/'parent directed feeding'. She says, "as well as going against every grain of maternal instinct, there is now compelling evidence that these practices are not only detrimental to infant development, but also undermine parents' confidence."

Pinky is offering two events for Brisbane parents on Monday 3rd May at The Esther Centre, Cnr Peel and Merivale Streets, South Brisbane:

Terrific Toddlers

You have given your baby a gentle beginning, but now that the biddable baby in the bunny rug has become a toddler with attitude, you are wondering, how do we handle this without breaking up, breaking down or breaking our childs spirit?

Learn how to enjoy and enhance this magical stage of development at this interactive workshop with Pinky McKay, author of Parenting By Heart and 100 Ways to Calm the Crying and Merrin Butler, early Childhood teacher.

Time : 10am to 12 midday

Cost: - $25 each/ $40 per couple.

Parenting by Heart Restoring the confidence to nurture

Unlock your intuition and nurture with confidence as you learn how science confirms what instinct has always sung in the hearts of mothers and babies as birth, infant feeding and care-giving choices impact the well-being of both mother and child.

A talk for parents, parents to be or health care workers. ( I would rather hope that all who can will come to the ABA seminar)

Time : 7pm 8.30pm

Cost: - $20 per person.($30 per couple)
