Subject: Re: Fw: [ozmidwifery] IVF whilst breastfeeding? Hi Joanne
If I'm reading this correctly she wants to be implanted when baby is 9 to 10 months old. Being pregnant at that stage shouldn't be a problem with breastfeeding. Baby will be on solids and prolactin levels will be near-nonpregnant range. The rising levels of oestrogen and progesterone from the pregnancy will have an effect on lactation ... some babies will wean themselves because of a change in volume and taste of the milk, but others will continue on happily. This mother probably does need to know to be aware of this possibility. Cheers
