I thought some of you might be interested in this. Two Midwives attended the course last run and we are having growing interest and success with Hypnosis and Birth. Let me know what you think.

Whilst I was very skeptical when I was first introduced to Hypnobirthing, I have now developed into my practice and it has proved to much more useful than any technique I have tried in the past………and whilst some woman are not interested in the required practice to have a complete hypnotic birth…I find using the language and scripts very effective during the birth

This method has been developed out of combination of all the tools I have been using with birthing woman throughout my birthing career.

I have been working as a Doula for many years, and during that time, have observe techniques and skills that woman have used to support them during the birthing process. I have also used similar techniques to facilitate working with young people with cancer, chronic pain, and death………allowing them the space to choose what they need and want, and a way out of their pain…and method of them controlling the pain themselves……There is now doubt that deep relaxation and visualisation is a most powerful tool. For many years we have encourage an outward _expression_ of the contractions, but in recent years it has become apparent to me that taking the experience inward, relaxing into the process in total trust and with out fear is the most effective and powerful way to birth.

This appears to shorten the length of labour, leave the woman feeling comfortable and able to parent her child immediately.

This has also been observed by other woman, and the development of hypnosis during birth is establishing rapidly in Australia.

As a Doula I have had amazing experiences with women who have developed self hypnosis tools. They have experienced comfortable, short effective natural birth, without eh use of medical help. Doctors have been amazed observing this woman, expressed great interest in the process!
