Funny you mention this Jo. A young woman I know, her mother is a midwife, is so terrified of pregnancy and birth that she said to me, " the only time you'll see me having a baby is when they can grow one in an artificial womb". She was going on and on about the pain of childbirth and how pregnancy is such an inconvenience etc etc. I was shocked and wondered what on earth her mother had been telling her.
