Hi Abby, Yes, it is very difficult to obtain in Australia. There was a study that showed it caused cancer in rats/mice but this was in very large doses - far more than a baby would receive. Sorry, I don't have the reference for the actual study. It is still recommended by Dr Jack Newman, a VERY breastfeeding friendly paediatrician in Canada.
