Hi,
We would have loved to have done something in
Perth, and had a program all set up. But as you know, ABA works almost
entirely through the work of our volunteer counsellors and Community
Educators. Numbers of volunteers in ABA as elsewhere are falling off, and
the people in Perth just didn't have the woman power to organise something.
But there are ways you can support the Australian
Breastfeeding Association from Perth, and with your support we may be able to do
something in 2006.
Ways to support us include:
Go to www.breastfeeding.asn.au
And donate to our Christmas appeal.
* Join ABA or the Lactation Resource centre (from
the same link.
* Reccommend mothers join the association - I can't
think of a better investment for a mother and her baby.
* Use the money you would have spent on going to
the seminar in Perth (if we had one) and put it towards going to the Australian
Breastfeeding Association's international conference in Hobart in September
2005
That's just a few. And don't forget to shop
via www.mothersdirect.com.au -
fabulous stuff. Or LCs and midwives www.lrc.asn.au
But in the other states, the seminar will be
terrific.
Love, Barb
