Hi Helen, I participated in a workshop as part of the program you mention. It was very informative, very honest about what is known and not known about CTGs. All professionals participated on an equal basis, with obstetricians receiving the same information as midwives, and completing the same pre and post test (my score went up by 15%). I found it very empowering to receive the same information as the obs. I also enjoyed sitting next to our registrar and learning together. We each had to take our turn at interpreting a trace for the group. I imagine for our doctors that this scrutiny was uncomfortable, when the facilitator was a midwife, and would point our your errors no matter who you were (there were a few!) Given that CTG's are a fact of life in our unit, the more  our midwives know about them, about what they can and can't tell you and how to interpret them correctly, and the more the obstetricians know about them, the less caesareans will occur.
