Kim,
Implanon is the implant which is inserted into the upper inner arm. Mirena is an intra-uterine device which secretes progesterone. Implanon is active for 3 years, Mirena for 5 years.

Just out of curiosity........ Is implanon the one you get inserted in your
arm?  What is it's recommended life?   Has this replaced the Mireana (IUD)?

I was told it was. It didn't affect my milk supply. I had it inserted at 8 weeks, and removed after a year (due to intolerable side-effects!)
