Just to share that I went to be with a client tonight who lives about
an hour from echuca but had decided to birth at the hospital here
because her mum lives here. I had suggested having the baby at mums
but mum was not keen on the idea. She rang at 12 mn to say she had had
SROM but didnt feel I needed to come. Partner rang at 0045 to ask me to
come arrived at 0100 to be greeted with a hi I think I need to push.
Looked at grandma who luckily I know quite well and said are you going
to be OK with this because and she shrugged and said I guess I better
be. Baby arrived at 0113 to be greeted by mum dad, nanny, poppy, twin
teenage siblings of mum and big sister aged 3 slept through the whole
thing. They are all exstatic and the whole thing was a buzz. Family
all tucked up in bed. Big sister woke up when baby cried right beside
her as mum got into bed. Sat up had a quick cuddle and photo and lay
down again to watch mum bf. Good thing hello baby has been her
favourite story for months now!!!!!!! she has taked the whole thing in
her stride. Now 0500 and home but still too high to sleep. Dont think
you new midwives have a monopoly on the buzz because I still get it
after all these years and it keeps me coming back for more
