Hi Jeannine, I work independently in Adelaide and have my fingers in many of the consumer group pies that Jo was talking about (there are lots of us that are Jill's of all trades and wear many hats...how many clich�s can I fit into this post?!)
As Jo said there are some wonderfully positive things happening here in Adelaide, despite the terrible intervention rates etc. Lots of crises happening at present with Obstetric services being withdrawn at hospitals as Dr's retire, a negative I know for the women who were expecting and paying for their services, but a real positive for the future of changing maternity services. Common sense must prevail sometime soon, surely! There are women here in Adelaide who are members of the consumer based groups who also have lots of knowledge and information about current and projected future services, so feel free to contact me also off list if you like, and it will be great to meet you when you get here.
