Will doctors who work in the public sector also be stopped from working in the private sector? I don't think so.

Hi Justine and all,

This reply from someone on the Essential Baby website, regarding homebirth
in the ACT.

"Hi

Just wanted to let you know that I work at ACT Health and have just written
a policy on this. The independent midwife may continue to practice, but
anyone working in the health service is not permitted to be involved."

So who governs this? Does this mean that if you work one day a week for ACT
Health, you are not permitted to practice privately as well? Is this
decision ratified through the Nurses Board? Surely they are the only ones
able to permit or not permit someone to practice? Ohhhhh, this sounds bad.

Tania
