Hi Paul,
I've used the following codeplex project with some success: http://www.codeplex.com/mossfeaturegenerator I takes a bit of getting used to, but it can generate site column features and content type features, and it appeared to work comprehensively in our tests. At least it saves you the hassle of authoring the feature.xml and element.xml from scratch. It's certainly pre-release however, and I would always suggest reviewing what it generates to ensure "it's got everything". It seems there is no simple OOTB way to achieve this without redeploying the entire site collection. The following look very promising. Does anyone have any experience with this approach, or recommend another that doesn't involve cutting XML or CAML by hand?
