Nope, looked at that too. If you create a new site using the template, it works fine. Then add the alternate access mapping and when you visit it with the original URL it works, visit it with the alternate access mapping and you get the error.

This is the error you sometimes get here...which means you're webpart xml file code is incorrect. This can also happen if you modify the webpart xml code in SharePoint designer also. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator."
