What's the feature actually called? I can check. Or is it called
lockdown?

Hi Fadi,

Did someone install the lockdown feature? Despite its claims it actually
locks down form views.

I discovered this the hard way after weeks of tearing my hair out and
wondering what I'd done wrong.

Also, on the same note, does anyone have a nice short list of crawl
exception rules that will stop it from indexing form views while still
indexing individual pages??

I had originally used rules such as http://*/Pages/Forms/* to prevent
form views coming up in search results, which should have worked like a
charm. Unfortunately they also prevented item level views from being
indexed.

Subject: Search Issue [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Not sure if anyone got Phil's email yesterday, but we're having an issue
with the search. Not sure if anyone has come across this before, but
here's the scenario:

We have a site called http://www.site.com/abc

The default page in abc (http://www.site.com/abc/pages/default.aspx) is
a redirect to go to http://www.site.com/abc/def/pages/default.aspx

Now when the search crawls, it indexes www.sites.com/abc/pages (without
the default.aspx). If you click that search result, it returns an
"Access denied" error. However, if you put the default.aspx manually,
it works and redirects you.

In the search results, you also get one that points to www.site.com/abc
and if you click on that one it works fine.

This is a public facing site and all anonymous users have access to it,
so Im not sure why it's having a permission error when you can hit the
pages within the pages library but get the error when you hit pages
direct.

I know we can setup search crawl rules so that it doesn't index those
sites, however we will have to do them manually.

In our dev and uat site, the crawl doesn't return
www.site.com/abc/pages, it only returns www.site.com/abc and I can't see
anything different in the search configuration between the two.

Fadi
