Hi All,

I am unsuccessfully attempting a BDC connection to Gupta(now Unify) SQLBase
9.0. The background is as follows:
I have a Windows 03 server x64 with Moss 2007 Sp1 x64. A business requirement
was to make a POC connection to a Gupta SQLBase 9.0 x32 DB with a x32 driver
pack. This was installed on the Moss server. I created a System DSN in
odbcad32 which test successfully. I then attempted to connect via ODBC using
BDC MetaMan and received "Data source name not found and no default driver
specified" error. I tried a plethora of different string combinations which
should have worked..

I downloaded the SDK and tried to connect using "Application Definition
Designer". It worked first go with a very simple connection string. I created
an Application Definition which uploaded successfully. However, when I now try
and add the business data type in a BDC list I get a "unable to connect error"
in the web and the "Data source name not found and no default driver specified"
error in the Event Viewer , ODBC logging and ULS. I have tried changing the
Application Definition connection properties and I'm having no luck. Has
anyone successfully connected to a 32bit database via a 32 bit ODBC driver in
x64 MOSS, or could you offer any other suggestions?

Thanks

Mark
