yeah mate :D, it's been awhile
i saw some posts on modifying email template for alerts but i am not too
sure it actually applies for workflow email as well. *sigh* this whole
thing is quite frustating :(

Long time no see :)
I heard a while back that you can modify the email template files in the
MOSS hive, but it's not recommended (would set the template for all
workflow emails server-wide). Using custom workflow you could probably
duplicate the OOTB email template and point your workflow to use that,
but yeah it would require custom workflow.
