Hello all,
I am having some trouble with content types. I have created a custom content type with the Dublin core as the parent. On the custom content type (at site level) I have made several of the columns mandatory. I have added this content type to the document library on a sub site but when I go to create a new document using the specified template it only shows two columns in the document information panel as mandatory but will not let me check in because fields are missing.... but on the view properties on SharePoint it has an asterix next to all mandatory fields but is telling me I cannot change edit properties because it is checked out but also tells me that I cannot check it in cause the required columns are not filled out??? Anyone have any ideas as I am trying to encourage the use of content types but its hard to sell something that is not working.
