Yes, it was not very clear (from 2003 to 2007) what would go right after the upgrade and what would need attention.
Having said that, it would be nice if: * Pre-requisites for the upgrade * Do Case scenarios for various upgrade paths (including variety of OS(s), databases etc.) * Some sort of forum for information sharing and prompt response are available. Most of administrator would expect the above basic stuff available before deciding on adopting 2010 from beta. [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] But so did the upgrade from 2003 to 2007. when it came to actually doing it though, it was a headache. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Joshua Haebets Sent: Friday, 17 July 2009 9:07 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Who plans to adopt SharePoint 2010 from beta?! The upgrade path to 2010 actually looks very good. If you have SP2 installed now you can start checking your farm stsadm -o preupgradecheck, a great tool Cheers Josh -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Bill Williamson Sent: Friday, 17 July 2009 9:01 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Who plans to adopt SharePoint 2010 from beta?! We're still waiting on 2007 to get out of beta... Kidding aside, we did install 2007 as a beta pilot, and overall feel quite burned from the process so we'll probably be on the late adopter for 2010. I'm especially interested in the migration story, which I'm guessing is "there's not one".
