Subject: Load Tif Files to Doc Lib + Meta Data

Is this possible to achieve in Sharepoint.

I have 1000s of tif files each day that need to be loaded to a document library
- these are scanned invoice images As well as these images there is another
file that contains a fixed width record for each of the invoices scanned - I
need to have this load as the meta data. I can match the tif image name with
one of the fields in order to tie the information together but have no idea how
to get it all into sharepoint in an automated way.

Can you tell me if

a) this is possible
b) there is a simple way to do this
c) that the solution is clearly described somewhere in a step by step how to do
it method (I know I am being hopeful here).
