Let's get this simple and correct as to what Excel Services can and cannot do with Data!
1: Cannot connect to sql server but can connect to Analysis services. If you go into Excel and select the pivot table option with a Sql Server Connection, the data is static.... If you do want to use the data connection to sql server, you need to break the connection (make the data static) before publishing to excel services. 2: With Analysis Services - it is easier to use Kerberos so as to be able to use windows authentication? Are many companies using Kerberos as it seems every second blog to fix connection issues? And why is Kerberos so complicated - or is that just a rumour? Regards, Tom Bizannes
