Yeah, as of April we seem to have reliable stats coming through. I think you
can forget about trying to get the retrospective logs to show though. :\

I have been to Microsoft with this issue he said the problem was fixed in the
April CU. After applying this the problem was resolved but we did lose data
from when SP2 was applied up until I applied the April CU.

Nathan

Has anyone been to Microsoft with this issue?

For those that are wondering we are talking about the site usage reports:

http://<site>/_layouts/SpUsageSite.aspx<http://%3csite%3e/_layouts/SpUsageSite.aspx>
http://<site>/_layouts/SpUsageWeb.aspx<http://%3csite%3e/_layouts/SpUsageWeb.aspx>

There does not appear to be any stated documentation that reports that these
are fixed in any patches.

Regards,

Peter

Do they exist in the specified location? It doesn't create retroactive logs.

We output our logs to a different location to the 12 Hive and security settings
are fine. It started working properly after applying June CU to WSS and then
running the Config Wizard, but I can't get it to analyse logs generated before
the CU was applied.

Mark

Yes same here.

We actually output Usage logs to a location different that the default location
in the 12 Hive.

I suspected permissions issue with the new location - but have been over with a
fine toothed comb the permissions on the original location of the logs and our
new location.

Has anyone spoken to MS about this?

Do other people use the default location for usage logs?

Peter

Subject: Site Usage Reports

Earlier this year we applied SP2 and it appears our Site Usage Reports stopped
working. We didn't pick this up until a month ago. The Logs were still being
produced and could be accessed directly or through SPD or via
_layouts/usageDetails.aspx, however the MOSS reports weren't showing data, or
if they did it was sporadic data.

We applied the June CU for WSS yesterday, ran the Config Wizard (Thanks Daniel
B for your advice) and now the Site Usage Reports are displaying data for
yesterday that is meaningful. No data is displayed for before yesterday.

My dilemma is how do I get MOSS to process the past several months of log data
so that it is available in the Site Usage Reports.

Any thoughts?
