Hi Manish,

Like Paul suggested, don't do it J

By saying that, I mean don't edit this file on the file system. Doing
this isn't generally considered a best practise because the change
you're making isn't a managed solution. An example of where simply
editing the file would suck is if you were to later add another web
front-end server, your change would only be present on one of the two
servers. Wrapping these kinds of changes up in solution and deploying
it to SharePoint will afford you more control and peace of mind.

Having said that, I couldn't tell you how to actually achieve what
you're after. If you're a developer you might want to look into it
further, otherwise try Paul's suggestion.

Haven't looked at Nintex Workflow myself, should check it out..

Cheers,

C

Don't do it. J

Either get Nintex Workflow or live with the limitations.

Subject: Editing MOSS 2007 "Task Notification" email template

Hello Everybody,

I am looking to modify share point's default task notification
template that appears within email clients. Specifically looking to
change the behaviour of the "Edit this task" button in Outlook to open
the task edit form in Share Point instead of the Infopath form it tries
to invoke. Could you'll please provide some insights as to where exactly
these modifications could be done J ?

Is "alerttemplates.xml" residing within the 12 hive , the file that
will need to be changed ?

Thanks and Regards
