Hello Folks, I'm configuring federated search to return results from Bing in the search centre for one of our site collections. In the Federated Locations settings for the relevant SSP, I've configured the "General Information", "Location Information" and "Display Information" using the default configuration. I've configured the "Restrictions and Credentials Information" settings to match our farm authentication provider settings (Common>NTLM - Specify a username and password ). In the "Proxy & Timeouts" config I'm using the address & port number for our web proxy. The federated results webpart is configured to point at the relevant Federated Location also. The upshot of all this is that everything appears to be configured correctly but when a search query is entered in the search centre, the federated search webpart returns an error of: "The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required." This error appears even though the account that's being used in the credentials for the federated location has sufficient access rights to authenticate with the proxy specified, and the correct password is being used etc etc etc. I've got a ticket logged with Microsoft they have verified that everything appears to be configured correctly.
