Yeah. We ended up using custom code to do it, which of course turns it into an
“administrator upload required” form that requires an iisreset to deploy :|

Agreed. Why can’t webforms have cascading dropdown lists?

I haven’t looked at the 2010 version yet, but am definitely planning to. I’m
praying it’s a lot better when it comes to webforms.

Agreed, the amount of potential InfoPath has is extraordinary. However in the
real word it doesnt mesure up or even come close to it in my experiance.

The whole disconnect between the thick & thin clients is also a big
pain....features/functions based on if its the client or the web just adds the
the complex confusion of InfoPath imho.

InfoPath 2010 is looking nicer tho!

Yeah, agree. InfoPath is nice in theory... but in practice it's a dark dark
art. Full of issues which arise from lower level integration problems with the
underlying environment. The surprising thing to me is that people on the team
who are involved and have knowledge about that dark art do not blog more
technical stuff so that it can be better understood.

Who is the Raymond Chen of SharePoint+InfoPath!?

Thanks Marko,

But it has been for about 8 months, nothing has changed apart from publishing
more columns and turning save as on.

Chris,

Your form needs to be browser compatible, which you can enable from Design
Checker – Change Compatibility Settings - Compatibility and tick the

“Design a form template that can be opened in a browser or InfoPath”.

Here’s more info:

Hi Guys,

Have this error from the publishing wizard.. yet 0 errors are showing, anyone
with any tips figuring out what this could be?.

I had some trouble with it publishing previously until i removed some promoted
fields, apart from adding a save as option nothing else has changed.
