I think the issue is that they have now hidden it away under 'more options'.
I also didn't notice that when I created my first SC and chose the root
template in 2010.

Now if only I could understand the change to their default non-publishing
site breadcrumbs layout and behaviour - it used to be below the top nav in
the contents pane but showed all parents in the hierarchy, now it is higher
up the page above the top nav but only shows where you are under the current
site. Both lack common sense - why can't it use the same inheritance
settings approach as the nav! Seems like masterpage changes are still needed
to get what most clients expect.

Chris,

This setting inherits from the parent site.

EG.

ROOT

- Site 1

If when creating Site1, the option below is set to NO, then ALL sub-sites
underneath Site 1 will have NO, too.

Cheers,

Tommy

Subject: tearing my hair out - navigation

Hi Guys,

Tearing my hair out with this one.

When going to create subsites I get:

Seems to be something configured at the site collection level, but I have no
idea how to change it, I want it to default to "Yes" so when users create a
sub-site they get the same navigation as the top level site.

Please help!, this is the last thing I need to fix before going live J.

Regards,
