OK. A better question and the reason behind it. We have a substantial number of users who connect to the internet via an HTML proxy server which provides China-style filtering of "offensive" content. When they try to connect to an MWS through Outlook they're getting a server error. I'm guessing something is being mangled along the way and authentication is failing. In any case I'm not going to get the ISP to change their policy.
As a result I'm looking at creating a SharePoint calendar to manage these users events but there are a number of limitations - e.g. specifying the Organizer and inviting Attendees. Is it feasible to create a custom content type of Meeting Request with Organizer and Attendees fields. Add this to a Calendar. And then use a workflow and/or event handler to populate the Attendees and site users when the connection to the MWS is made? Would it then be possible to update these when the Meeting Request is modified? All opinions and feedback appreciated. If so, can you now properly manage meeting workspaces using a SharePoint Calendar?
