Hi all

I've just come across this
article<http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/11e320b2-2255-4fb8-9c61-5b16ad182988>,
which describes the issue I've been having perfectly. I can't remember when it
started on our production environment, but I do know that it started on our new
environment after installing the October CU (I installed MOSS with SP2
slipstreamed, set everything up, and then installed the CU)

Changing the registry values as mentioned resolved the issue on the "new"
environment. I'm going to keep checking it over the next few weeks to make sure
no other issues occur, and if all works well, I'll leave it like that when the
new environment migrates to production.

Oops, sorry - meant SSP, not SSO :) Yes, the link to the logs works fine. The
log file path on the old environment is the default, but it's custom on the new
one.

Hi Nigel,

Did you mean SSP or that you have SSO configured as well?

It doesn't look like there's any problem with the import or the logging. And
you're able to view the logs via the link in the UI without problem? Do you use
the default path for log file creation?

Regards,

Paul

Subject: "No data source is defined" error

Hey all

For the past couple of months I've been perplexed by an error on the 'User
profiles and properties' page in the SSO. I have no idea what causes it, but as
everything seems to still work fine, I haven't looked into it much. The
interesting thing is that we're getting the exact same error in the new
environment that we're building.

In both cases, the count of user profiles appears correct. If you view the log
file, it shows 0 errors. The import connection is pretty standard (see below)

Anyone have any suggestions?

Nigel

Import connection:
(&(objectCategory=Person)(objectClass=User)(sAMAccountName=U*)(sn=*)(mail=*)(!(userAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)))
