This is only part of the process. When you move to a SP2010 farm you can do a
database attach. Before you do it run Test-SPContentDatabase it will then
generate a very detailed report of what is missing in the new SP2010 farm. See

Subject: 'Preupgradecheck' fails - supposed missing webparts

Hey all

When running the 'preupgradechecker' on MOSS 2007 to see what issues might come
up when upgrading to SPS2010, it fails saying that several webparts are missing
- 3 examples below.

Id = 669602d9-e116-ccb8-eea3-e37ad589b14b, Type = Unknown, Reference = 4,
Status = Missing
Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.WebControls.SearchSummaryWebPart
Id = b620591f-ce04-2efb-7b19-256f5fd94ca7, Type = Unknown, Reference = 1,
Status = Missing
(Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.CategoryResultsWebPart)
Id = a70e5d2b-5a28-f448-159a-41473b653477, Type = Unknown, Reference = 2,
Status = Missing
(Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.WebControls.FederatedResultsWebPart)

The interesting thing is that I can create a new page, click 'add webparts' and
add the above 3 webparts to the page, so they're definitely NOT missing. They
exist in the webparts gallery, they exist in the 'add webparts' list, and they
exist on the page. Rerunning the 'preupgradecheck' still reports them as
missing, and fails.

Any ideas?

Nigel
