IT "could" be done, there is a big reason why OOTB this isn't...performance. I have PowerShell scripts that can build a report on what has unique permissions. Better still...create a few Doc Libs that are subsets of this one Doc Lib where you have unique perms and refactor your Doc Lib. It's only going to cause you pain later on ;-)
