CU level is not great. We still have the profile picture updating issue that was introduced last year and cleared up in the Dec 2011 CU (I think.)
Frankly, I've been a bit wary of applying any CUs just because of the potential for issues. We're migrating to a new server soon, so we'll update at that time. In the meantime, I'll suggest a more recent ie for the users. Did I mention they're using Windows XP too?
