I also notice in this updated article it mentions, to use path based site collection, with alternate access mappings for your different URLs, so if renamesite does not work this may be a option

Using Get-Member against a given site I can see the various properties I need to change but I'm not entirely sure this is everything. As Ishai states, I'm sure some values live at the WebApp level. This page for MOSS 2007 - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc288637%28v=office.12%29.aspx - states that: "...to change the URL of a host-named site collection after it has been created, use the following command:" stsadm.exe -o renamesite However I can find nothing for SP2010. :\ On 28 August 2012 11:01, Matt Menezes <mtthw.mene...@gmail.com<mailto:mtthw.mene...@gmail.com>> wrote: I'm guessing Paul is asking about host named site collections in a multi-tenancy setup as per the article here http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaevans/archive/2012/03/27/what-every-sharepoint-admin-needs-to-know-about-host-named-site-collections.aspx Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question Paul, good luck. I'm talking about host header site collections within the app. I need to modify the current URL from http://old.site.com<http://site.com/> to http://new.site.com<http://site.com/>. I can see what values need to be changed but not sure whether the Rename method takes all these into account. Will the SPSite Rename method do the trick? I can't really test this easily without creating some DNS records for the purpose. I was hoping there might be a Rename-SPSite command-let out there somewhere. :) Regards, Paul _______________________________________________ ozmoss mailing list ozmoss@ozmoss.com<mailto:ozmoss@ozmoss.com> http://prdlxvm0001.codify.net/mailman/listinfo/ozmoss -- Regards, Paul Noone SharePoint Farm Admin/Developer Infrastructure Team CEO Sydney p: (02) 9568 8461 f: (02) 9568 8483 e: paul.no...@syd.catholic.edu.au<mailto:paul.no...@syd.catholic.edu.au> w: http://www.ceosyd.catholic.edu.au/ _______________________________________________ ozmoss mailing list ozmoss@ozmoss.com<mailto:ozmoss@ozmoss.com> http://prdlxvm0001.codify.net/mailman/listinfo/ozmoss _______________________________________________ ozmoss mailing list ozmoss@ozmoss.com<mailto:ozmoss@ozmoss.com> http://prdlxvm0001.codify.net/mailman/listinfo/ozmoss -- Regards, Paul Noone SharePoint Farm Admin/Developer Infrastructure Team CEO Sydney p: (02) 9568 8461 f: (02) 9568 8483 e: paul.no...@syd.catholic.edu.au<mailto:paul.no...@syd.catholic.edu.au> w: http://www.ceosyd.catholic.edu.au/ ___________________________________________________ This message is intended only for the use of the addressee.
