About 2 months ago the Hadoop community is agreed to move Ozone to a separated Top-Level Apache project (Apache Hadoop Ozone --> Apache Ozone) [1]

This mail is a quick update about the current status (and request for more discussion).

What has been happened so far:

 1. The wiki page of the final proposal has been created today [3]

2. I proposed an easy way to form a new Project Management Committee: select all the Hadoop PMCs who are active Ozone contributors + add anybody who are suggested by this initial list of people

3. I asked the current PMCs and got some very valuable feedback about the process which is added to the proposal itself.

What's next:

--> The proposal should be finalized.

Feel free to edit the page / add your comment / express your opinion.

1. I will improve / finish it based on the suggested method

2. and once it done, we can start a discussion on the hadoop-dev lists about it.

3. we can start a formal project vote after the discussion

4. which will enable to send the proposal to the board

Thanks,
Marton
