No current version of an express SKU for Blend exists. The $999 version is actually The Expression Professional Subscription, which basically gives you a copy of Expression Studio, Visual Studio Standard, Office Standard, Windows XP or Windows Vista Business & Virtual PC to name the highlights. That's actually more than what you'd pay for each individual items retail, so it's actually been reduce quite significantly in terms of "budgets".
