The vision is to make it a generic approach to DataAccess, but I heard that for the first version the target is Silverlight. There're some examples out there for SEO<http://blogs.msdn.com/brada/archive/2009/07/14/business-apps-example-for-silverlight-3-rtm-and-net-ria-services-july-update-part-4-seo-export-to-excel-and-out-of-browser.aspx>and MVC<http://blogs.msdn.com/brada/archive/2009/07/30/business-apps-example-for-silverlight-3-rtm-and-net-ria-services-july-update-part-xx-asp-net-mvc.aspx> and I remember they mentioned JavaScript at a conference, those could give you an idea of what's possible today.
