PivotViewer in the Business
by Chris ‘the code’ Anderson <http://chrisa.wordpress.com/>

Chris will take a look at using the PivotViewer control to add business
intelligence capabilities to your Silverlight applications. We’ll look at
the features of this control, how to implement it and add your own
functionality to it, and look at the various ways you can prepare data sets
to be consumed by the control.

*Chris Anderson has been a professional developer for over a decade,
specializing in building desktop, web, and mobile business applications
using Microsoft technologies for industries as wide ranging as accounting,
property valuation, mining, the fresh produce industry, logistics, field
services, sales, and construction. Now running his own business he has
turned to Silverlight as the ideal new technology for developing and
deploying business applications. Chris is the author of two books –
Professional Visual Studio 2010 for Wrox (as a co-author), and Pro Business
Applications with Silverlight 4 (for Apress).*
*Case Study: Using Lightswitch as a data manager for Silverlight
applications
*by *Young Oh*

On its own Lightswitch can be a very powerful RAD tool to create 3 tier data
management applications while saving precious development time and costs.
Also Lightswitch can be used as a great data management tool for certain
online Silverlight applications. This case study demonstrates how
Lightswitch and Silverlight can be used in harmony producing a PivotViewer
based Silverlight application.

*Young is a Silverlight developer. Previously worked full time for Leighton
Group and now as a freelancer for Qantas. Currently deeply involved in
PivotViewer based Silverlight projects.*
